Ooty

Spend your weekend exploring the beautiful landscapes of Ooty, in the lush green mountains of the Nilgiris. Leave early in the morning for your 5 hour journey to reach Ooty. Spend the rest of the day exploring the Botanical Garden and the lake in the cool eucalyptus air. The next day, head to Coonoor for a trekking adventure to the top of Dodabetta, the highest mountain in the Nilgiris and witness the spectacular view of Eucalyptus. About 6 hours away from Bangalore, Coorg gives you many options to indulge in. Begin your tour with Abbey Falls located amidst coffee and spice estates. Next, visit the historic 7th century Madikeri Fort and Omkareshwar Temple. Indulge in the Edakkal Caves and Wayanad Heritage Museum to satisfy your historical craving the next day. End the day with a visit to Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. A coffee enthusiast will surely spend his life wandering around one of the coffee plantations. Trekkers can enjoy a number of treks including Mullayanagiri Trek, Kemmangundi Trek and Baba Budangeri Trek. There are many places here that you can explore depending on your interests. Spend another day here by visiting the Mysore Zoo, Lalitha Mahal Palace, Regional Natural Museum and Kukkrahalli Lake.
