Valparai
Valparai Hill Station is located at an altitude of 3500 feet above sea level in the Anamalai range of the Western Ghats and is one of the best tourist places in Tamil Nadu. Then, in 1864, the Karnataka Coffee Company started its own coffee plantation here, but could not make it profitable, so they sold a part of their farm. In 1890, W. Vintil and Norden bought a large part of the British Raj from the Madras State Government at Valparai under the British Raj. Vintil deforested the area and established a tea and coffee estate. He was assisted by veteran planter Carver Marsh. Carver Marsh, because of his dedication and hard work, later came to be known as the father of Annamalai. A statue is erected on the Kawerkal estate dedicated to Carver Marsh.

Horsley Hills or Horslakeonda or Yenugullah Mallamma Konda are a range of hills about 9 miles from the town of Madanapalle in Madanapalli Taluk of Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. The original name of the hill is Yenugu Mallama Konda. The place was named after a legend of Mallamma, a saintly old man who lived on the top of a hill and was believed to have been fed by elephants. The place was called Horsley Hills around 1870 when British collector WD Horsley made his home. Compared to the hot and dry areas around, the place was cool, cool and refreshing, so what inspired Horsley was his residence.
